Southern England Magic Convention

As part of the Southern England Magic Convention we are organising brand new competitions:

     

The British Isles Children's Entertainer of the Year. 

 		  The British Isles Close-up Magic Entertainer of the Year.
 

Will be open to any amateur, semi pro or professional children's entertainer. 

To make it absolutely fair and non biased, we want magic clubs and societies to get involved with

the judging.  We propose to ask for 8 to 10 minutes DVD from contestants plus a £2.00 stamp to help with postage.

 We will send a copy of every DVD submitted to any club or society wishing to take part in the view and selection process.

Entrants wishing to have their DVD returned please include stamped self addressed envelope.

Out of these we will hold a DVD show case before a live audience of children and esteemed magicians to select

6 finalists who will perform live at SOUTHERN ENGLAND MAGIC CONVENTION on the 31st January 2009 at Lakeside Country Club where the winner will be decided by the audience made up of magicians attending the convention and local children.

The winner will receive a trophy, plus airfare and 4 nights in a hotel in Las Vegas!! and the title of

British Isles Children's Entertainer of the Year 2009.

 

       

Will be open to all close-up winners from British Clubs and Magic Societies.

The format for entrance into this competition is to send a DVD no longer than 8 minutes duration of your close-up performance, with a covering letter signed by the Chairman or Secretary of your club or society to verify your status as the current holder of the relevant trophy within your club/society.

The competition will be run in the following way: 

  •  All of the DVDS will be evaluated and shown to a panel of esteemed magicians and venue owners who employ close-up magicians

  • This will take place in a large venue over the course of a weekend

  • A shortlist of 12 will be developed, those chosen will be invited to the convention for the Grand Final

  • Entrants wishing to have their DVD returned please include stamped self addressed envelope

A new Competition Category of "British Isles Stage Show Magical Entertainer" will be created.
